Oiless Frying ?

I saw a sign in front of an Ace hardware "oil less turkey fryers".... How do you fry without oil ?

My brother has one and we have used it for turkeys the last 2 years. The turkey comes out very moist and juicy - like if you fried it.

Heard of this but, as with most subjects, I know nothing about it. Just sounds wrong, though....

check out this link. I've heard they are just as good as frying without the expense of buying all that peanut oil.

It's an infrared cooker.

We need Alton Brown to prove/disprove this theory of oiless frying is as good as the real thing.

Until then, I'm going to keep on frying.

I know it is actually a roaster, but it does a really good job. Beside the turkey cooking, ribeye roast, etc, are excellent !!

I used one twice and wasnt that thrilled about it. Frying comes out much better.

I have both fried and done the oiless frying. I thought the oiless frying was just as good.

Isn't oil-less and frying kinda mutually exclusive terms? Like honest Democrat, soft po'boy bread, tolerable Aggie, sophisticated Alabaman.

Can it be fried with no oil? Don't think so.
