I found it amusing.

But holy shite is it overrated af

Benicio was the best character, by far, and got so little screen time. The daughter was good

Leo gave a weak performance

His wife and Penn are the antagonists of the film, and I am not sure which was a bigger POS

Too many cringy moments in the film. Hearing some 70 year old boomer ask Sean Penn if the black chick he screwed was a semen demon was terrible. I was waiting for him to ask if she was a throat goat next. Too many moments the script felt laughably weak for me. Leo’s film choices since Once Upon A Time In Hollywood have been disappointing imo.

This was hilarious. It's made even funnier in retrospect, given what transpired immediately after this interaction.

It's very mid-tier PTA. People saying this is the best movie of the year just shows how nothing good has come out this year.

I think Hamnet will sneak up and win Best Picture.

Can no longer critique an overhyped movie on a Movie/TV message board without being “triggered”?

Sure you can. Critiquing a movie is great, whether other people agree with the criticism or not. Calling a movie overhyped is not a critique. Instead of citing something in the movie that didn't work for you, your framing your opinion against the opinions of others.

"Other people like this movie more than I think they should" is a lame position.

especially with the dumb bastards that come here from the Poli, most of which haven't even seen it because they were told not to.

This is the only critique the broad populace of this board knows how to throw. Every movie that’s somewhat popular is “overrated”.

It is a film universally praised by critics that absolutely flopped at the box office. Overrated seems like an apt description if you didn't care for it.

Nowhere does my post say that is my view.

Was simply referring to viewpoint of the ignorant knuckle-draggers that are “triggered”. But thankfully we have the enlightened few who can point and laugh at the ignorant who don’t universally praise the film. Heck they probably just don’t understand it

America bad and ray-cis, black people rule. Whitey is evil unless you self loathe. Christmas is Ray-cis too.

There, saved you three hours. Thank me later.

I set aside my politics after reading the reviews on TD. I gave it a fair chance. I really like Leo and most things PTA does. This was very overrated and drawn out. Kept waiting for meaning and closure. Got neither.

Watched on HBO.

I expected less based upon some of the feedback here.

It's definitely woke. Not subtle in its distaste for ICE type stuff. The leftists in holllywood will agree with its messages and throw oscar nominations at it. This is definitely Oscar Bait.

But it's still a PTA movie. There Will Be Blood is an all timer. And I like The Master a lot too, mostly to watch Phoenix and Phillip Seymore Hoffman at their best.

This movie is not boring. It's beautiful to look at. The pacing is fine.

I like the final act...he's doing something different with the focus and the roadway...very unsettling and different.

Is the first piece of trash whore supposed to be someone we look up to? Hope not. It would have been a very different movie if I had to stomach her for very much longer.

The young actress was good.
DiCaprio is his reliable self.
Del Toro also putting on his special charm.
I just can't get past Sean Penn.

Bonus points for ending with Tom Petty's American Girl.

I've watched There Will Be Blood at least a half dozen times. The Master maybe half that. I don't think I'll watch this again. But I don't regret watching it.
