Yep.

Sadly, these INDIVIDUAL awards almost always incorporate TEAM success into the equation unless a guy just has a truly remarkable individual season (see Hunter and Daniels). They also can be somewhat of "lifetime achievement awards". For example, Delpit did not have a great 2019 season. He was much, much better in 2018 and should have won the award then.

However, should Delane win it that would be LSU's 4th winner, which would be the most of any school.

Best LSU DB since Stingley and Delpit in 2019.

A shame that we had to wait so long for 1 competent DB considering this state's resources.

Downs had that wrapped up in the preseason but good for him to make it as a finalist when he wasn't even on the radar for it earlier this year

Agreed, Delpit in 2018 was one of the best seasons ever by an LSU DB. So good, they gave him the award the next season.

Can't believe that Corey Webster didn't win it in 2003.

Delane should be the first CB off the board come Draft time. Dude is a technician who is long as hell.

Fantastic!

Does anybody know if he had any PI calls on him this season? To be that good and not get flagged is really good. I am thinking he may have one

Yep. These awards are a popularity contest, and the OSU brand is more popular —- currently (not for long, though)

He was really fun to watch. A player I will remember who was only here for one (forgettable) year.

Shoutout to Guillory while we are at it.
