Not sure if this has been mentioned here yet.
I guess Allison doesn't want to be affiliated with the failures of GM's 10 speed transmission.
I'd really love to see Allison design a HD transmission for Ram Trucks with Cummins engines.

If I understand this correctly, starting back in 2020, GM stopped using the Allison transmissions and began using their own HD 10 speed codeveloped with Ford.
However, they continued using the Allison badging per their licensing agreement which expires 6/26. So for the last 5 years, GM has basically been false advertising.

You are correct. It's more of a Ford designed product. With all those failures, Allison was getting a black-eye.

With all of the insane bullshite that car manufacturers are putting into vehicles now, why not just keep driving older vehicles. Saw an article yesterday that Stellantis vehicles are now using the infotainment system to advertise new vehicles.

I was looking into this recently in Arkansas. A distributor I work with had a competitor in an account quoting cheap Chinese replacement parts and even going so far as to put the genuine OEM's logo on the paperwork. This can be a crime in Arkansas.

This is correct. Allison has not been in a GM vehicle in a long while.
I work in the industry. Amazing how many folks don't realize what they own. They just trust the badges.

Allison with a Cummins deleted would be the shite. I would love to delete my truck and put a Allison transmission in it but the delete runs around $4k from what I understand and the adapter plate for a Allison to Cummins is around $2k then the Allison transmission is another $8 to 10k. May just end up deleting it after the warranty expires and run the transmission until it's dead. Aisin trannies suck.

GM is currently in the midst of screwing up all kinds of things related to their brand. They're currently adding 50 new subscription services to their 2026 models with an eye toward significantly increasing revenue by year 2030 brought about by recurring revenue through various subscription-based services, such as enhanced navigation, driver-assist features, and over-the-air software updates.
I don't foresee myself ever purchasing another GM product as long as this is their business model. I imagine I'm not in the minority with that opinion either.
