Hey Guys, my son is wanting a new aluminum climb stand for Christmas.
Please post links to any screaming deals if you run across any this week during the black Friday sales.
He is wanting a summit viper but i'm looking for a good deal so any reputable brand is ok by me.
Thanks in advance.

Really a shame that the old API design is no longer.

Summit Vipers are hard to find on sale. You can typically find them in the $350 range. But you can save some money by not buying the newer Pro version. It is the most comfortable climbing stand I've ever used! I can sit in it all day during the rut without ever becoming uncomfortable. Adding a set of Thirdhand Archery stabilizer straps to it makes it extremely safe and locks it to the tree for pretty cheap.

“Ole Man Climbers”
Hunted out of one for years, killed quite a few deer out of it.What I liked about it was I like to face the tree when rifle hunting, felt like I was hidden better.I found it comfortable, actually made some all day hunts out of it,climb before daylight and not get down until dark.Don’t think I have that much patience anymore.
I got spoiled to box stands.I still have my Old Man stand, use it once in awhile to climb a tree and prune limbs of trees in my yard.

I sit in the Summit Viper after climbing, and most of my spots I have near 360 degrees shot possibilities in terms of directions. I have made shots at nearly every direction from where the seat faces, so I wouldn't say this holds you back. I stand up, lean against the tree if needed, I've say on the front bar to face backwards, whatever I need to do.
I am interested in the minimalism of the Old Man...toting the summit is not as fun. Sitting in it is great, as others have said. Climbing is easy.

This is awesome...I have thought about bringing my stand to the youth football games, I see some trees on the edge of some fields where I could get a great view.
