Who's got or had the tougher job?

It’s tougher now. No doubt about that.

That’s a good question.
With NIL, who knows.

It is not tougher now. That’s laughable. LSU had 39 scholarship players when BK took over. NIL and transfer portal were not in full swing yet when Kelly took over.
If LSU hires Kiffin this program changes overnight.

BK taking over from EdO and it’s not even close.
Let’s not forget that in his last year, Ed O couldn’t even find an experienced coordinator who would take the job of being one of his coordinators.
And that, mind you, was his binder plan. Finding the best coordinators and getting out of their way.

I don't know... that was a pretty bad team back then and at least now got money the hand out.

frick off. We had a 50 man roster and 1/4 of that wasn’t close to SEC level. This offense is poorly coached, but fricking hell. A good staff and the portal can fix that. The defensive talent that will be left dwarfs what we had after 2021.
Some of you act like 13 yo girls with their first periods.

Kelly did a great job of rescuing the program but seemed to quickly lose interest. Somehow I think that he got frustrated with some meddling or micromanagement but maybe he just got lazy

Kelly had the tougher job.
Let's look objectively- for one thing, this team just won it's 7th game, which means a winning season this year. That's a better finish than either of O's last two teams.
You do have some talent here. On defense, we should still see a solid secondary, with Pickett and Woodland at corners. That right there is competitive in the SEC, something we didn't have when Kelly came; he had to portal the secondary COMPLETELY for his first few seasons. I think we may also have a couple D Linemen who are young and returning.
Offense, bitch and moan about it, but there's Durham and Berry at RB, and Green at TE. Might have some more.
Again, that's more than Kelly got to start with.
Kelly also had to burn a lot of the attitude out of the players, because Orgeron let things slide and people coasted. Case in point, the DB who didn't bother to show up on time to the "meet the new coach" meeting. Fingers crossed, but it doesn't seem like that's the case with the majority of players this year (Nuss notwithstanding, and he's gone). It seems like they're still trying. The defense is playing well, and the offense is TRYING, if executing poorly and very limited.
