Years ago, my Dad and I used to fly fish in the rivers and bayous throughout Louisiana. We would use an "Accardo Bug" in Chartreuse Yellow for the majority of the time. It was so fun to pull in nice sized bream and goggle eyes.
I haven't fly fished in a real long time, in fact, I haven't seen or heard of anyone around here doing so. Does anyone fly fish here anymore?

Crappie fishing is the big deal now. Jigs and jig tying are similar to fly fishing.

I absolutely love fly fishing for bream. I use a white popping bug. I didn’t get out much this summer. I will have to double down this summer to make up for it.

We'd sometimes use a "black gnat" with a piece of pork rind on it and let it slowly sink until a big hungry bream would try to take it and run.
Good memories!

I often pass a fly fishing shop in Shreveport and wonder how it possibly stays in business. Noticed today it has a “going out of business sale” sign.
