Frank Sinatra called Chicago in a song “My Kind of Town” What would you call it?

I think ChiRaq covers it.

Safer under Al Capone than the current gangsta.

Sorry this happened to this family, but they/she voted for this. I feel bad for the children, but in all reality, all of these kids will be dead within 10-15 years anyway. I know that sounds heartless, but it's verifiably true.

I used to love Chicago, it was probably my favorite city in the nation, but I won't be visiting again until they make some big changes. The violence used to be limited to the south side but now the entire city has gone down the toilet

I always have a great time in Chicago. I live a 2hr drive away from downtown. Not that there aren't problems. But I know areas I can still go and feel safe and have fun. I use to take the train around town... but those days are over. I Uber directly where I need or want to go these days.

I lived there for 60+ years. It's pretty bad all over.
...and it's spread as far west as Oakbrook now and as far north as Lake Forest. ...I should say those areas are pocketty.

Me and my son flew up and watch the Cubs play a 3 game series in August. We called it a good time.

Same with me, I avoid the train at all costs now and just relied on Uber the last time I was there

"Chicago" - By Carl Sandburg
quote:
Hog Butcher for the World,
Tool Maker, Stacker of Wheat,
Player with Railroads and the Nation's Freight Handler;
Stormy, husky, brawling,
City of the Big Shoulders:
They tell me you are wicked and I believe them, for I have seen your painted women under the gas lamps luring the farm boys.
And they tell me you are crooked and I answer: Yes, it is true I have seen the gunman kill and go free to kill again.
And they tell me you are brutal and my reply is: On the faces of women and children I have seen the marks of wanton hunger.

From the mother of one of the perps. I know most of you aren't academics, so try to follow along with the ivory tower lingo as best you can:

Been a couple times. Never cared for it. NYC and SF much better to visit.
