If you were going to hear official news today, it was going to be that he had agreed to extension. I think the lack of news is actually a good thing.
Not claiming to have knowledge, just reading the situation.

The meeting is ongoing, their lunch break is from 1 to 1:30 then resuming talks at 1:30 to 4.

Logic would tell you that if he agreed to stay at Ole Miss in this meeting that it would be announced rather soon...I agree
Logic would also say though that if he told them he was leaving in the meeting, Ole Miss would have no worries about letting the cat about the bag as they begin getting a new coach in place.
This is also Lane Kiffin. Logic may not apply at all.

Unless they would rather keep stringing LSU and Florida (and their fans) along.

The discussion should be about when he is leaving. Regardless of what is going to happen, Ole Miss should make the best decision for the players on that roster. That may be holding their nose and letting him coach next week, and then letting him leave.

You would have to include Ole Miss fans in that too

they would not string along their own fanbase and team on the heels of a playoff run

This makes no sense if he’s gone. So they are going to “string us along” while also fricking themselves with the timing of hiring their new coach, recruiting, portal, etc.
If he is definitely staying the Sexton will let Florida and LSU know because he will be working to get them to take one of his other clients.

At this point I just want the news to break one way or the other so we can move forward!
