The Lady Tigers put on another clinic tonight with several double figure scorers. Bella Hines had another impressive performance that will get lost in the atttention given to the leading scorers. Tonight she had 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocked shots and 3 steals and 3 points in 17 minutes. This is a special freshman class.

Bella is good, as is Johnson, but I think Knox is the star of the freshman class.

I think Knox, Z. Johnson, and Hines are all great. Hines is a 1-3 though meaning she’ll have a harder time getting minutes this year. Not sure what’s going on with Gilbert, but you’ve still got FlauJae, MKW, Fulwiley, and Richard probably in front of her. I think Kim will have a harder time shrinking to a 7 player rotation this year.

In the presser Kim said KG was dealing with family issues, which is why she wasn’t there tonight.

And...took another charge.

I'll keep saying it until it's common knowledge: Bella said, before she arrived on campus, she set a goal to break Poa's record for taking charges. Bella has drawn at least one, sometimes multiple charges, each & every game so far.

That takes a special mindset, particularly from a young 6-game-old sharp-shooter that could easily focus all of her court energy in limited minutes into getting splashier offensive stats onto the box-score. I don't even know how to find stats for drawn-charges, and this young lady had already made this obscure achievement her goal while still in New Mexico.

I liked her answer in the post game pressor. It was something like Saban would say. "We didnt dominate some teams like we should have." A win is nice but we have to learn how to dominate better.

She's going to be really good.

Once Bayou Bella offense is comfortable, she will average 20+ points a game.
