If Lane cares about his legacy

He’s coming to LSU. He can win here. He can win nattys here. No one has won multiple championships here. He wants a statue built of him. He’s a narcissist and that’s what we should want for the coach at this moment. Be hungry.

If he wants is a statue the easiest way to do it is stay at Ole Miss. He can be a perpetual 9-10 win coach and make the playoffs a couple times a decade there and they will build him one. Their definition of success is LSU’s definition of being almost there but never getting over the hump.

I’m surprised he doesn’t have a statue already.

Brian Kelly was the biggest narcissist we’ve ever had as a coach.
Dude alway put blame on everyone else and called us spoiled.

If Kiffin wins a Natty at ole Miss it would trump anything he would do at LSU. Ole Miss has never won a Natty and they would not only build a statue of Kiffin....they would name a street after him and have a national holiday named after him.

I would assume that Saban would influence him this direction because of the potential, but I don't know anything. I think he may have to endure a year or two of middle of the pack finishes here, but his hiring may spark a recruiting and transfer portal frenzy. Saban wasn't a super sexy hire for us at the time, so I have no idea what a knockout hire at LSU looks like. I don't think that BK Elias ever considered that by most. I remember pulling into San Diego for a port call and seeing the hire and being mostly numb to it. I'd be on board to be hurt to see what Lane's potential could be.

Kiffin would be Brian Kelly part 2....both have coached storied programs and never won shite.

Kiffin won't win shite here just like he has done every where else.

I don't really mind the thought of a Sumrall, but it just feels like it'd never happen. I'd love for someone to earn their big boy salaries here and latch on for the long term.

I honestly don’t think Kiffin comes here.
I think he’d be better than what we had by a mile (and probably more in line with what lsu thought they were getting with Kelly) but don’t think he’s worth the money he’s going to require to get him to switch.
Just historically, he seems like he’s on team Lane Kiffin to me and that’s okay I guess. He’s a cool witty guy. He’s good at his job when he wants to be and like it or not he’s going to be as good as he wants to be wherever he goes.
I think if he wants to build a legacy he should stay at ole miss. Yes he’s at a recruiting disadvantage but that can and will change if he builds his program correctly. (Example: Saban could coach anywhere and guys will line up to play for him) It’s like he’s found his groove. Thats hard to do in life and rebuilding sucks.
I like Lane and would be happy to have him. I don’t want anybody who doesn’t want to be here though. If he comes I hope it’s because he’s excited about coaching here and doing his best.
If he doesn’t, he’s still funny, honest and good at his job. I may hate his team but I like and respect those things.

And you’re a dumbass too. Lane wants championships bad and if he comes to LSU then there will be instant success with his recruiting and what he will be able to spend in NIL in portal/recruiting. Elite athletes will want to play for Kiffin.
Brian was old and just wanted to add to his retirement as long as he could before LSU ran him off.

He should stay with Old Miss through the playoffs and potentially national championship.

IF IF he comes here I doubt he’d stay for length of whatever contract he gets. He will either be a resounding disappointment, ala BK or if he finds some significant measure of success here he will be moving on to the next big thing.
