Just curious....what good does it do to say "oh yeah there was a tornado here 14 years ago."?

I'm sure scientifically they want to have everything documented properly... have it survive scientific scrutiny

Insurance issues that may have arisen. Stats. Federal funding on certain things.

14 years later? Seems like a day late and a dollar short. They couldn't look at the giant swath of destruction 14 years ago and say "yup, tornado?"

What the frick did they think it was for the past 14 years?

I was living in northeast Tennessee on that day. Craziest weather day that I remember in my 57 years. Tornados touching down all day and everywhere.

An EF2 sliced up the edge of my neighborhood, blew my dormer windows out, and knocked a huge white oak down onto my roof. It hit us at about 5:35am or so as we were just heading into the basement because of the tornado siren nearby. We heard the tree thump the roof and glass breaking upstairs
. Rain and hail hit us like an extended machine gun volley.
