Set 24 years before the original novel, this movie will tell the story of how Haymitch Abernathy (originally played by Woody Harrelson) came to win the 50th Hunger Games.

Read both books.
Hates songbirds and never had a desire to watch the movie.
But sunrise on the reaping was awesome. It was much more inline with og hunger games and catching fire. Like 75% of the story is hunger games/pre capital training.

I haven't read any of the books since the OG trilogy, but the Songbirds & Serpents movie was God-awful.
What Collins was thinking by making Snow's first name to amount to "Corey Ol' Anus" was baffling.

This book was infinitely better than Songbirds. Ending had me all fricked up.
I'm on a reread of original trilogy and didn't remember that they watched highlights from Haymitch's games that basically tell how he won and some of the characters involved.

Maybe tbe author planned to have haymitchs story come out decades later from the OG trilogy but it fills in so well at why haymitch hates the games and the president in the OG movies. Makes much more sense now
