Why did Trump call Boebert to the WH last week to pressure her over the petition?

Can anyone please explain this to me? It’s one thing to think the thing is a distraction. It’s another to make yourself look like you’re covering something up by having a meeting in the situation room trying to get her to take her name off.
There’s no logical explanation for that other than the administration wanted to block the release of these files by ending the petition early and not forcing a house vote. Why would they do that if they had nothing to hide? When it became inevitable, they reversed course because they had no other politically viable choice.
Downvote away but this issue has been BS after BS from this admin, and it’s idiotic to call people “Panicans” for thinking their handling has been suspicious as frick.
ETA: It makes it look like, at the very least, that Trump and Johnson were trying to cover for some Pedos. Anyone else did that, and y’all would be at their throats.
Since some in this thread want to act like the meeting “never happened” here’s our always truthful press secretary deflecting about how the meeting was a sign of “transparency”.

Trump had to put on a good face to his handlers that he was at least trying to kill the discharge petition.
IMO Trump wants these files released. His handlers do not.

Was never confirmed. Only reported by the left. Press secretary said she was part of a group and couldn’t even confirm Epstein was brought up.
Better question * why would Massie give an off-ramp to redact and withhold files in his bill if he wants full transparency

Care to actually engage with the rest of the argument? I wrote that awkwardly by being redundant. Oh well the point stands.

The most powerful man in the world has to put on a good face for his "handlers?"

Oh wow the press secretary said she couldn’t confirm it? The same one who brushed off the meeting as being “evidence of transparency”
I’m sure it was just your run of the mill situation room meeting with a member of congress, and definitely had nothing to do with Boebert’s involvement in the biggest political story of the month.
Some of y’all will swallow any lie this admin gives you.

How would that establish topics discussed?

The delusion is strong here over this.
Dude, they didn’t invite a congresswoman with her name on the petition that was going to pass later that day randomly to the Situation Room to talk about tax cuts.
They would have to be politically inept to not see the optics, and would have only done it if they were desperate to get her to take her name off.

Why isn't the Biden administration being accused of covering for pedos? They did absolutely nothing concerning Epstein for 4 years.
Why weren't Massie and MTG having press briefings on the steps of the capital during the Biden administration claiming they are covering for pedos? Why wasn't Khanna?
I think you have to question that.
As far as Trump, he's probably asking himself these same things, and coming to the same conclusion, it's political, and OMB.

I’m not defending Biden. These all should have been public long ago. But it doesn’t suddenly excuse Trump trying to cover them up either. Two things can be true at once. And the Dems and MTG using this for political gain? Well of course they’re going to try and do that BS.
But again, it doesn’t change that Trump tried to prevent their release until it became inevitable.

I read above that she was part of a group...

I feel like you're nitpicking a resolved issue... what even is the point?
If we're going to make assumptions on content and intent- how about the 4D Chess Hypothesis that states Trump wanted to make it look like he was against the release thereby reliably drawing democrats into the "release the files" camp?
This hypothesis has some legs as he has definitely used similar tactics on his opposition in the past.

Allows unsubstantiated speculations to inform opinion.
Demands facts to refute speculation.
Assumes lack of engagement proves speculations to be true rather than admit they made a shitty thread not worthy of a measured response.

The Democrats were already going to vote to release them. That was their stated goal. Trump’s pressure came after they had already decided this was their issue of the month. So this makes no sense.
As to why I care about it. Because it shows Trump was trying to prevent the release of the Epstein files and further eroded any trust I had in him, while this board continues to believe this is all 4D chess.

Trump made Epstien an issue on the campaign trail, Kash Patel had the list, Bondi had the list. Everyone in Trumps orbit talked about it all the time right up to the election. so why are you deflecting to "what about Biden"

I’m asking for reasons why Trump would have called Boebert to the Situation Room on the day the petition was going to pass. Go ahead Aristotle.
ETA: This may be the most idiotic reply I’ve ever been given in a thread on TD

the Biden DOJ continued Trumps fed case against Maxwell and convicted to 20 years in prison. Upon his return, Trump sends her to a nicer prison .
