Anyone been over the last month or so? How are things?

Have a trip planned beginning of December and trying to figure it all out. 2 Days Islands/Studios (3rd trip in 3yrs) and 1 Day Epic.

Staying on property for Express pass at the two, but know they don't do it for Epic... although looks like you do get early entry staying on property. Any recommendations on how to approach?

I've heard don't do Ministry at rope drop. Make way to the other areas first and hit Ministry late in the day.

Is purchasing Express worth it at Epic?

TIA

I went a couple of months ago.

Ministry of Magic is not part of Early Park Admission. I’ve heard sometimes it will open early, but that’s not guaranteed. When it does open early, it’s open to everybody, not just those with Early Park Admission. You can go there first, but you might have to wait for an hour just for the ride to open (assuming it’s working). Waits tend to be the shortest for Ministry of Magic in the evening, but it can also close early (there will usually be signs out if that is the case).

I spent two days there and hit Mine Cart Madness first one day. That one also wasn’t part of Early Park Admission, so I had to wait for an hour for the ride to open. However, I thought it was worth it since that ride has a very low capacity of riders per hour and, as a result, has some long wait times.

The second day I went to Stardust Racers first (which is part of Early Park Admission). I was able to ride both tracks once, went over to Dark Universe after that and rode Monsters Unchained and Curse of the Werewolf by the time the rest of the park opened. I went over to Ministry of Magic after that and the wait was already three hours (I didn’t get in line).

If you’re only doing one day at Epic, I would suggest getting the Express Pass.

Express is only really worth it for Ministry. The rest of the rides don't have terribly long waits. Mine Cart can get bad sometimes because it is low capacity and has shutdowns occasionally. Ministry says 3-3.5 hours most of the time, but reality is more like 5.5-6 hours in line.

The rest of the park is very manageable to do in one day without express. It just depends on how much you want to do Ministry.

So it closes early because the line gets too long to be able to fit anymore people before the park closes. So the line never really gets short and the ride doesn't actually close early, the ride just can't accommodate more people that night.

It's pretty well known at this time they lie about stand by wait time. People report 5-6 hour waits on 3-3.5 hour line times. That line goes on forever.

When I went they let us into the Harry Potter area at the same time as early admission and we were able to ride ministry with no wait right away. We the. Headed to berk and got there around the time that the park opened. The park was excellent, pizza moon was really good. Don’t prioritize monsters unchained early because the line was never that long, was my favorite ride btw. We weren’t able to ride donkey Kong because the wait time was insane and it broke down while we were in line. Use single rider line as much as possible, also stardust was down while we were there because the fatality happened a couple days before our visit

That's definitely the way to do it if you don't have express. We did the line once when it got down to 2.5 hours posted not long after opening and it was 4.5 hour wait. I won't do it again unless you get in line at rope drop/early admission or if we have express. Not worth it, it feels like you won't ever get on the ride through that queue.

Thanks for the info... I've got Islands/Studios down to a science at this point and end up leaving early half the time bc we've done everything.

My kiddo isn't worried about potter, but really wants to do Berk, so maybe we pop and do stardust during the early admission then get to Berk and try to knock that out

Berk wasn't super busy when I was there. It wasn't a long wait we did the wing gliders and the show. Both were awesome. We skipped the rollercoaster and had no interest in the little boat ride.

Definitely do Monsters Unchained, great dark ride, my favorite in the park. Usually only about a 20 min wait.

We are doing Islands/Stuido Sunday and then either do Epic Monday or Tuesday depending on weather and the likes.

Hoping both will be a little slower since its 2 weeks before xmas. Alway try to go 2 weeks before Thanksgiving or Xmas.

disagree completely. Express is mandatory for Epic. Every ride when I went had a line of 180 minutes or more.

Did you go around a holiday or a Saturday?

Last time I was there a month ago for the most popular fall break week and chose a random weekday and didn't have anywhere close to that. If he goes before school gets out between Thanksgiving and Christmas, should be similar. Only thing remotely close to that was Ministry and it was over that. Monsters had a 20 minute wait. Mario Kart had a 45 minute wait all day and it was faster than that.

I will say, stay at night for epic. It’s a gorgeous park at night especially dark universe.

This is the correct answer if you really want to enjoy the park. If it's just you or you and one other, it's totally worth it to pay 600 bucks and not have to think about anything other than where you want to get your next drink and where you want to go next knowing that there will be no wait for you.

If you have a big family, it's a big number. So I understand not getting it if you are visiting with a family of five.

But I enjoy nice things. And I'm willing to pay to have a great day.

When I went last month, we walked in whenever we wanted, grabbed a coffee, walked leisurely around the park, and waited in no lines. As I walked past hours and hours of lines, I could not help but think in my head that it was the best $600 we had ever spent.

Cheese and Rice.... Its $300 per person and only allows you to skip the lines once per ride?

Yes, each section has two rides. And there’s plenty to see and do beyond that. The day goes by faster than you think. Frankly it would be impossible to see everything in an enjoyable manner without the express pass.

I'll run that risk for $1200, especially if its only once per ride.

Yeah it makes less sense when you have to multiply by 4. It’s a wonderful park, the best themed park in the United States. I do recommend getting the power wristbands for the super Mario world area. There are a lot of interactive things that pair with the power wristbands. Pretty damn cool. They even unlock special areas if you complete the games. Pretty cool stuff.

Think the plan will be to get to the park either Monday or Tuesday morning 90 before actual open, get in the hour before open and do Stardust first, then Berk, then nintendo

If don't get on everything, we don't. I know we will have a great time at Islands/Studios the other two days.

Totally fair. Like I said, it's a big number.
