Insight into BK's coaching future

I heard Brady Quinn on the radio this morning who said from people he talked to linked to BK, he has very little interest in coaching again. So that leaves us on the hook for the full 54 million despite the mitigation clause, which BK intends to collect all of. He also said his priorities are golf and wine instead of football which lines up with everything reported during his tenure as our coach.

Makes sense.
If he was disinterested in coaching at LSU, I don't why he would be interested in coaching elsewhere.

Fine. Be up his miserable arse about applying for high school football coaching jobs to get his check then

I felt like that was a given, why would he go from a top flight program to one that has little support? The only thing that would have kept him going is his ego/legacy, which he obviously doesn't care about anymore.

Shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. He mailed it in and said this was his last stop before he even started

Well I heard from people that talked to other people that don't even know about Tigerdroppings make the exact same statements about BK.

His contract says: "Employee shall exercise due diligence and good faith in seeking qualifying employment so long as the liquidated damage obligation exists."
Does he not have to attempt to work again?

Hell I wouldn't either if I have 54 million dollar parachute coming to me right at retirement age.

I'm sure he will apply for jobs to avoid violation of the contract, but he doesn't have to accept any job. He has all the cards here.

Meh. Every coach says that and then they take a year off and the blood gets going again.

Maybe he should shut up and stop telling people about not wanting to coach again

Applying for jobs won’t be sufficient. It may not seem like it, but this is fairly strong contract language:
quote:
Employee shall exercise due diligence and good faith in seeking qualifying employment
Per wiki, this is his coaching history:
1983–1986
Assumption (DC/LB)
1987–1988
Grand Valley State (GA/DB)
1989–1990
Grand Valley State (DC/RC)
1991–2003
Grand Valley State
2004–2006
Central Michigan
2006–2009
Cincinnati
2010–2021
Notre Dame
2022–2025
LSU
At which point he goes more than a year without a coaching job, the burden will start to shift onto him pretty heavily.

He isnt getting anything close to 54.
High 30s is where it sits now.

I don't know. He wanted to settle at 43 before he filed suit against LSU. He seems like the petty type to go for the full amount after we started bringing up the fired for cause case.

No. It doesn't. Per the mitigation clause, Kelly has to "exercise due diligence and good faith in seeking qualifying employment so long as the liquidated damage obligation exists." In other words, he has to look for a football-related job (coaching, admin, or media) in good faith or he is breach of the contract.

It says a lot that Franklin already has another job, but BK has sailed off into the sunset likely to never be heard from again.
BK burned out and was coaching like someone ready to retire.
