Anyone ever heard of Bringhurst Golf Course?

Came across this video today. Figured any of you in the area may want to check this out maybe.

Can't go wrong with a nice little, free par 3 course to waste some time on and practice your irons.

Youtube video. They play 3 free courses in the country. First is Louisiana.

Pretty solid practice day. You can play the 9 holes twice in like an hour.

I don't go as often as I should. I should really spend some Thursday lunch hours there in Spring and Fall.

I never played it growing up around Alex, but we played a bunch of baseball next door at Bringhurst's baseball stadium before it was torn down. Use to be a nice, active area with the baseball fields, golf course, and Alexandria Zoo right behind it, but this was back in the mid-1980s. Area looked similar on their YouTube video.

I learned to play there. Great memories.
If you’re a little long on #2 your ball ends up in the Alexandria Zoo

Those other two free courses look amazing. Incredible shape and layouts.

It is a true gem. The city actually does a good job of keeping it in decent shape. You can work on your wedge game and have fun. The longest hole is 125 yards and the shortest is around 35 yards.

I wish every city had something like this. Growing up in Alexandria I didn't start playing golf until after high school. This place is where I really learned how to play.

Bringhurst is awesome! If you shank a shot over the surrounding fence you can sometimes ask the local crackhead limping down the street to toss your ball back over the fence to you

Got a few tournaments at Links and Oakwing next year, going to go down and play this before. Numerous people told me about it while I was down there earlier this year.
