This is like Sexton/Saban during Sabans tenure at LSU.

Every year Saban toyed with leaving LSU. It worked to his benefit, by LSU giving him more money, power, and support like the athlete's academic center etc.

I believe Lane and Sexton are doing the same to Ole Miss. They'll give Lane more money, power, NIL support, etc. He'll be offered everything he wants in order for him to stay at Ole Miss, and that's exactly what he'll do.

Verge should continue to interview/inquire about other candidates and put Sexton on notice that he has to represent these other coaches as well, not just Lane.

The source on the boards I believe most is the one saying he is staying at Ole Miss and this was all a power play.

You know Nick Saban left LSU, right?

Yes after several years of flirting and getting what he wanted. Huiezenga offered him way more than LSU or any college could pay at the time.

When Lane comes out and says I'm not going to be the HC at LSU, then that's when I know he's taking the job.

If what you say is true wouldn’t that mean we owe some of the success of LSU football to Sexton and his gamesmanship?

He has gotten paid handsomely through his agent percentage contracting service. So no I wouldn't say he's OWED anything.

I didn’t mean monetarily, I mean credit wise. If it wasn’t for how he played the game it may not have happened.
