In past you played for the school and the coach. Now they play for "me". I bet they are less affected now since they all prostitute themselves to the highest bidder too. Its all business and I suspect more of them understand and are less disappointed now. Off to the next bidder.

Clearly they’re playing for their current staff…. You must not know much about Frank & Corey Raymond

Most of these players aren’t superstars. I’d imagine it matters to them who they are playing for, lol

Me is certainly first with this generation…

But “me” also needs “good vibes” and personal attention.

So yeah, it matters if you have a disconnected absent a-hole like Kelly.

They care as long as it is convenient for them

Kiffin actually has been beating this drum in press conferences all season. Which I find interesting.

Obviously the landscape of college football has had massive changes with NIL and the portal stuff. I agree that you will have some guys that just want to get a check. But I also think that those players will be the ones that get exposed ant the first sign of adversity and transfer. If the only goal is to get paid in college and the player is satisfied with that, you will be able to tell.

But I think most of the kids do care. They want to get better and play, win games and hopefully a natty, and get a shot at the next level. And to do that, you gotta have the coach that can develop the players. That will help prevent your 1st and 2nd team players from hitting the portal for the most part. And it attracts the top young talent too.
