Was just talking to a friend about the difference in living situations offered by each location. Frankly, I prefer BR and think it offers more opportunity. She (no pics) disagrees. I think I know where most of us are on this, but what’s the consensus?

Oxford is a great place to live. Its charming in a crazy arse world. I would not care to be in BR but for an LSU sporting event.

Um, Oxford and it's not even close. Anyone who says otherwise has not realistically been around both.

You’re exposing your entire family to an entirely different city, schools, stores…roads. You’re also becoming members of a different community, will build friendships, business relationships. Yes, rich people live better than most, but if you were a rich person…Oxford or BR?

If you’re talking about a place for a family for a regular Joe, it’s Oxford and it’s not close.

I would like the BR area better. Plus, there is N. O. right down the road. I can see Kiffin being a regular at Galatiire’s!

Exactly. Baton Rouge sucks, but for $80 million I will live in Somalia.

It’s nice to live anywhere when you’re rich.

I grew up in BR and totally agree. I would also take Islamorada FL over both. But I live where I have the best opportunity for professional success. And, I would move in a heartbeat if presented with a better opportunity.

So fun to watch non-LSU fans convince themselves that players and coaches will be living and hanging out in North Baton Rouge

Every big city has rough edges, if you don't go looking for trouble, you're not going to find it.

The coaches don't care. BR is fine if you are loaded. Oxford is obviously a better place to live for the common man assuming income is comparable.

Does BR offer more? Sure. Is Oxford nicer? Absolutely. Both can be true at the same time.

Does LSU given Kiffin a better chance to win a Natty is the real question and I think we all know the answer.

As someone who’s lived in BR since 1989 and travels the country for work, BR is a dump compared to other cities its size.

Oxford is just too far from anything worthwhile even though better place than BR. I guess you can jet around if you have access.
