Probably wouldn’t have really mattered. They could have likely lost to SC and Texas and still got in the playoffs at 10-2 with an OOC win over Notre Dame. Would have affected their seeding and chance to win the SEC, but it’s not like it would have prevented them from trying to go on a run to win the NC.

Before A&M, Elko was at Duke and they weren’t a playoff contender by any stretch but they certainly played above their talent level. Where is a coach like him right now? Virginia is playing well I think. Who is their coach?
