LSU just needs to pay Kelly and move on.

Kelly at 43 LSU at 30.
It will land in the middle say 36 or 37.
Plenty of good mediators in BR that can handle that in a day. Everyone meet in the big conference room afterwards shake hands and smile for a picture.
Then off to Ruths to pound the booze.

Apparently they’re still paying him? I don’t even know wtf is going on anymore. And I’m starting to not care.

Pay him it all over 6 years, but force him to come in for work everyday, and everyone just ignores him. He just moped around for 6 years while no one ever talks to him.

I believe his contract is written to where the buyout doesn't have to be one lump sum 60 days after termination or however they normally do it. As i understand it, his is written to where they could just keep paying him as they have been for the length of the contract.

That’s why I’m lost. Is that what Kelly is wanting? Because that’s not what he’s entitled to. He is entitled to his pay though. As long as there’s not cause.

From what I heard today, he was willing to negotiate the buyout total, and was not happy with what LSU offered him. He actually turned down a 25 Mill buyout and a 30ish million buyout If I remember correctly.
He came back with a counteroffer somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 Mill, and LSU told him to go frick himself. Then LSU claimed that Woodward fired him, and did so without consulting the board. LSU claims that he was not allowed to do that, and so technically he was not dismissed. LSU then came out and said they were firing him with cause, and they no longer owed him the 54 mill.
That is when Kelly Sued.

Yeah, he wants his cake and to eat it too. That’s what the media is missing here. He wants his full buyout and he wants a new contract in another job. He wants things he’s not entitled to. At least that’s what I’m understanding. If we’re OK with just paying him his contract until he gets another job, then what is LSU doing wrong? I don’t know. There’s a lot of unanswered stuff.

Yeah, the fired for cause stuff LSU needs to stop. I say just pay him his money until he finds another job. We’re not required to give him a lump sum.
