So what was the solution? Don’t criticize unless you have a better idea

30,000 billion is 30 trillion, so I'd temper those hopes.

He's pro-tariffs. Sarcasm is the tone of his post.

Another victory lap of increased taxes. We are so doomed.

Who paid those tariffs? I ask as many of them may soon be getting refund.

How much more are you paying in "taxes" cause of tariffs?

My sister-in-law bought an American made electric razor in Korea. She paid $150 for it. It's 79$ here on Amazon.

I notice in trips to Korea, Japan and China over the last few years that there are no empty or abandoned factories and no empty store fronts.

We have to protect domestic industries and we have to make them compete among themselves aggressively like Japan does. No inefficient businesses depending on protectionism to keep their sorry union asses afloat.

In your opinion, whose pockets will these revenues end up in?

Brave AI says,

quote:

Since April 2025, the U.S. has collected approximately $142 billion in tariff revenue for the fiscal year, with about $96 billion generated specifically from tariffs implemented after April under President Donald Trump's reciprocal tariff policy.
Monthly collections surged, rising from $16.3 billion in April to $29 billion in July, and continued at high levels through September, contributing to a total of $215.2 billion in duty revenue for fiscal year 2025.

The U.S. federal government collected $80 billion in customs duty revenue in fiscal year 2023, and this amount is projected to increase to $97 billion in 2024.
