Mrs. BTB (no pics, force of habit from tOT) and her friends are trying to plan out a bachelorette trip in March. They want an all-inclusive so that they don't have to leave the resort, but may do snorkeling as an off-resort activity. All should be flying out of NOLA (we have SWA points to pay) and flights are currently relatively inexpensive. The goal is to spend less than $1k per person for a 3 night stay (Saturday night thru Tuesday morning.) Several Spanish speaking bridal party members, so not sure if that will help with any type of things they they could do on the trip.

Generally I am the one that does the planning for all of our family/friends trips but I have zero experience with Cancun. Any help would be appreciated.

You're a classy BTB at least.

You realize no matter what guardrails you try to create, they're going to smash them in the mouth with a brick, right? Let me guess, you want all inclusive to limit spending (not exactly guessing,) but it's not going to work out that way. Sorry man.

There will be additional charges. They'll use lines which women love like, "It's part of the experience." It doesn't mean its a part of the all inclusive, but you're getting the bill anyway. Thoughts and prayers.

That's going to be a tight budget with flights. Even the cheap all-inclusives are going to run ~$500/night. Assuming 2 people to a room, that's $750/person for three nights, but this doesn't include flights, transportation to the airport, and absolutely NOTHING else besides eating and drinking at the resort (beware, there are upcharges at resort restaurants for better wine/champagne/certain dishes).

If they don't catch an early flight to Cancun, they will burn a day traveling there (and another day traveling back) so they may want to stay another night.

3 nights sounds great on paper but people often don't take into account how long it can take to get from your house to the hotel itself (flight time, customs, immigration, waiting at baggage claim, waiting on your taxi/Uber/transfer, the drive to hotel, check in process, etc.) The airport there is CRAZY busy and is not known for being efficient with baggage claim.

They shouldn't need to check a bag for 3 days but we all know they are going to.

Can't be any worse than when I went for my honeymoon. We were mid takeoff out of Miami when the explosion happened in 2022 that they thought could be a bomb, but just ended up being one of their scanner machines caught fire and burst. It was a shitshow. Still got through fairly easy, surprisingly.

Do you think a group of women on a bachelorette party will only pack enough things to fit in a single carry-on bag?

Sandos is prwtty cheap and had good amenities. Of the ones i went to it was the cheaper option. I had a suite for around $200 a night. And it included all my meals and drinks.

Though I won't do all inclusive anymore i prefer to just go to Isla Mujeres or Balacar now and explore. But AI has their place. If you are fine with staying on a resort the entire time.

Flying to Cancun is pretty quick from Nola or Houston.
I usually hop on the direct at 10am and I'm on the island with a drink in my hand by lunch.
I have flown MSY to CUN seven times since 2023.
Yeah i take the ghetto bird (spirit) but $200 for a 2 hour rt flight. I can deal with the crap airline.
