How much should I expect to pay to have an undermount sink reinstalled?

The porcelain sink detached from the granite countertop it's attached to. I guess the epoxy that held it there failed...whoever put it in originally didn't install any secondary brackets.
I need the sink removed, cleaned up, and reattached properly. Disconnect & reconnect plumbing, etc.
I got a quote and they want $950, which seems really high. This is in a major city in case that's relevant...

I had this happen a couple of years back. This is an easy DIY. I also recommend getting the below brackets to prevent the issue in the future.

Those are ok as long as the cabinet isn't built with veneered particle board, but still need a strong adhesive/sealant to mount the sink.
OP, it's an expensive fix because for someone to do it right it is a somewhat tedious and technically challenging process. Also, you need the right SMP adhesive and the best is 760UV by 3M. I build a clamp system using lengths of 2x4, all-thread rods, washers, and nuts. Basically a two-day process to give the adhesive time to cure before running caulk, reattaching disposal, faucets and plumbing. Then if possible I'll add something to reinforce the sink like those supports or build something myself.

Correct, still used adhesive on sink. Cabinets are real wood in my house.

Is the 950 labor only?
Reconnect/disconnect a garbage disposal? How big is the sink?

The $950 is labor and materials.
It’s a bathroom sink - I’d say normal sized…not huge. Only thing about the plumbing is theres an A/C drain line going into the sink drain.

That’s not that bad of a price really.

Call Adrian, he did work for me at my daughter’s house. Tell him Dad recommended him. He can reattach the sink. He did the work in the Cypress area. Best of luck. He should be way under the $500 mark. Let me know how it works out.
