student senate passes resolution opposing Charlie Kirk statute
Because he had no connection to LSU and was "divisive."
I wonder if they'd oppose an Obama statue.

They just can’t help themselves. If they would have stopped here, there would be no issue. But they had to add in “divisive” which in itself is divisive.

The term divisive to a liberal simply means you disagree with their delusions and fantasies

While I think the idea of a statue is a bit too far, I think a permanent "Ask Me Anything" concrete table would be a good idea.

I wasn’t a fan of it because he don’t really have ties to LSU and Landry did it because he’s an idiot. But when the commies added in “he was divisive”, I’m all for the statue. frick the left. There can be no quarter with them.

But George Fentanyl Floyd & BLM had ties to LSU?

Aren't SGAs basically useless?

The LSU Student Government is what a real life Reddit or OT meetup would look like.

Charlie would not want a statue of himself erected anyway. It is eerily idolatry.
A monument to open dialouge, leadership through Christian faith, or Christ our savior would be abundantly more appropriate.

Well shite, GT has a Rosa Parks statue

Where is the Statue of General Sherman?

I’m in agreement. Statues of an entertainer - although I liked him personally - shouldn’t be put up.
What’s next? Baphomet statues at UNC? No thanks. Bad idea all around.

Why are you against Shaq’s statue?

This is the most obvious reason not to build a statue of Charlie Kirk on the LSU campus.

I like CK and I think it's a dumb idea (no surprise coming from Landry).
The idea of a "change my mind" table/statue at Free Speech Alley has merit.

Why is it a dumb idea to honor a champion for free speech who was assassinated on a college campus on a college campus?
LSU has a plaque commemorating Simon Bolivar—newsflash Simon Bolivar never took a course at LSU. Does that make the plaque dumb? Of course not.
It’s appropriate to honor the leading American civil rights activist of the past 30 years who died trying to promote the free debate of ideas on our nation’s college campuses, which have become increasingly intolerant to speech.
