If you support the filibuster, you reject the Constitution!

I will die on this hill. There’s already checks and balances in our government. The founders considered supermajorities in the Senate (67 votes) and made it a requirement for passing treaties, overriding vetoes, impeachment, and ratifying amendments. they deliberately left all other legislation up to a simple majority. tyranny of the minority is a real thing (see Madison in Federalist #10).

If a party holds a majority in both chambers as well as the White House, it’s the will of the people. Whether you like it or not.

Lastly, the Senate should always be Republican given our current political dynamic. We have the advantage in # of states - Trump won 31 out of 50 in 2024. If the Dems ever have a majority in the Senate, Republicans have no one to blame but themselves.

Yea. But when democrats get back into power in the next 15-20 years it will be the first thing they do.

Whatever we wish for when we're in power, will be used by the other party when they're in power. Be careful what you wish for.

I disagree. In order to get back into power, without cheating, the democrats will take up the conservative mantra as the republican become more liberal. It is the cycle of political parties and it is every 65 - 70 years.

It’ll likely be way sooner than 15-20 years.

Republicans had full control from 2001-2007

Democrats had full control from 2009-2011.

Republicans had full control from 2017-2019.

Democrats had full control from 2021-2023

Republicans have full control from 2025-present.

must be miserable living in fear all the time. you can play the “what if” game all you want, but you’ll never accomplish anything with that attitude.

be bold! free yourself of that midget mentality.
