I’ve sang the words BA BA BA and SO GOOD SO GOOD so many times it makes my head hurt. I try to get my singer to take the mic out in the crowd now and let the fans do it.

This really is a true story. I believe the primary source material is a 2008 documentary of the same name. It's available on YouTube. Don't know if it's a good idea to watch before the movie or not (I did), but here it is.
This is not a purely feel-good story. I don't know how much the movie goes into it, but I know they do, there is a freak tragic accident that spins the family out of control for a half decade or more.
