Just beat Burkina Faso 1-0 in the opening group match. Cavan Sullivan came off the bench in the second half to grab the winner.

I think we had 11 shots on target to their 1 shot on target. Had one goal disallowed and a couple others cleared off the line.

Just watched on delay. Sullivan looks like a young Paul Gascoigne, temperament and all.

Taking on Czech Republic in final group stage match.

0-0 in the 38th minute on FS2.

We've already secured advancement, but we win the group with at least a draw.

Morocco in the Round of 32 on Friday. Getting PTSD from the U-20 Quarterfinal.

Hopefully we can take them down this time.

Actually looked this up yesterday…

Morocco’s U17’s lost 6-0 to Portugal and Japan U17’s 2-0. Here is the kicker…they were competing against other 3rd place teams and had a goal differential of 8-0, then they played New Caledonia in their final group match. In all my years of watching soccer, have never seen anything so insane.

New Caledonia was actually 3rd in the group since they had tied Japan (have no idea how judging off the stats). Morocco was already up 3-0, then New Caledonia got 2 red cards. New Caledonia did nothing but park the bus in every match already, but parking the bus with 9 players is a hell of a feat.

Morocco ended up with 79 shots…79! 28 on target, and won the match with a score of 16-0 the match highlights are sad. New Caledonia 2nd half wanted to be anywhere other than that field.

“Highlights” If Anyone Is Interested In Seeing 16-0

I think of New Caledonia lined everyone up on goal line and just stood there they would have prevented more goals than they did

Morocco equalizes on an 89th minute goal. We missed a PK, not sure why Sullivan didn’t take it. We had this game controlled and have just collapsed late

I know it is just U17’s but this is so par for the course. The entire tournament our offense was awful. Burkina Faso we win 1-0 and Tajikistan we win 2-1…5 goals in 4 games. You watch them play and they are very talented and composed on the ball, but our finishing and creativity in the final 3rd was horrible…just like at every level.
