I'm not sold on him He lobbied hard to steal Denbrock from us.
He and BK both know secret to their winning is Denbrock

Freeman would be stupid to leave ND, especially after BK's experience flaming out in the SEC. He's basically guaranteed a playoff spot every year and has 1-2 tough games on the schedule annually. He can stay there, become ND's all time winningest coach, make bank, and probably get a statue.

I think Freeman is probably far more motivated than Kelly. I think he also can run a side of the ball if he wants to or atleast have his DNA imprinted on it.
I think his big issue is he’s still unproven.
Kelly won at ND for a decade but could never win the big one. ND made it to the title in a fairly weak playoff line up last year and got beat handily by a team that lost two regular season games including one to a really bad Michigan team.
ND has played 2 teams this year with a pulse and lost both. One of those teams is still undefeated but the other has two ugly losses.
I think Freeman could be good but at this point it’s hard to judge him because of how privileged ND is to be outside of a conference.

The issue with Freeman is that when Ohio State comes open, he'll jump. That's his alma mater and destination job. Also I could see him in the NFL.
