Why is gerrymandering tolerated??

How did this BS ever arise?? It's so obviously designed to subvert the will of the public & reach a manufactured outcome. I think it's shite no matter who does it...how did it become such a crucial part of our political system??

Its been a thing for generations. Its only in the media now because the GOP decided to reciprocate what the DNC has been doing.

Because whatever political party in charge has decided that they're entitled to redesign the voter districts to match their own political briefs. I'm not a huge fan of Schwarzenegger as governor, but he made a point that both sides are doing this in various states.

I’d be okay with an amendment which prescribes a logical, unbiased districting method for the entire nation. Otherwise the voters lose, regardless of party

Agreed, it seems like the current version is all about screwing over either urban or rural voters at the expense of the other. We need one hard defined way of handling this imo
