With all these openings, there will be bidding wars. It will likely drive salaries through the roof. Whoever we get, we will be paying a mint.

I really don't understand why the average fan is so concerned with the salary of coaches.
Not a dime comes from the University itself and the vast majority of it is funded by private donors using their own money.
Sure, we should 100% see value for price tag (unlike with Kelly) but as far as what they make and what donors chose to spend, us normal folk shouldn't give two shits. If the Todd Graves and Ben Bordelons and Gordons of the world want to spend their millions on coaches, I'm here for it!

I disagree. I think Gov. Landry's comments have brought some sanity to the industry. $10M, $15M a year is ridiculous. $10M a year is $192K per week.
Add in coordinators and assistants and you're at 15, 18, 20 million a year for a staff. This cannot be sustained and will only drain athletic departments. Downvotes welcome.

The coaching salaries absolutely impact the TAF surcharges on seats and suites.

And it’s beyond ridiculous.

For me it’s the concept in general.
Last night someone was telling me that one of the World Series pitchers (dodgers maybe?) makes 700,00,000.
I mean that’s just insane. Idc who’s paying. In general it’s just nuts.
