Yea I was trying to rack the noggin to think of something but couldn’t.
One of my high school basketball coaches came up in the 80s and he told me after that episode, almost every team they played in basketball, including his team, used that song as their pregame run out song. All eyes were glued to it.

Miami Vice had a huge cultural impact on the 80s
Maybe it's me being nostolgic or maybe I was a kid and teen in the 80's and 90's, and even crap TV was good to my developing brain but TV was just way more fun. I was searching for a show to watch the other day and tried Neighbors. It's just more woke crap about race. How has it lasted 8 seasons? I just want to watch TV and laugh sometimes. Not to be preached at about skin color. Sad

Miami Vice is one of those shows that rooted into my subconscious because my dad let me stay up and watch it with him. He was all about the undercover narco shite because that was his line of work… he related to Crockett and Tubbs. Years later when I took some writing classes at LSU I always found myself veering back towards MV-type story lines, where lines were blurred on who was good and who was bad. I wasn’t even aware that I was subconsciously drawing from that show until I was older and did some rewatching.

Miami Vice was revolutionary and changed the look of nighttime tv series… Michael Mann developed a distinctive look in addition to unconventional heroes and themes.
His use of music was masterful and perfect for the MTV generation…

Watching shows with 22 episodes a season being paired down to 12, 8 and even 6, without any improvement in quality and in fact, for the most part, a drastic decline isn't sustainable for the industry.

I have been doing a Northern Exposure rewatch on the wife’s Prime. I was 8 when that show premiered so it wasn’t on my radar. I love the vibe and the writing of the show and have made it to season 3. Great cast.

I need to watch this. I never watched it when it came out. It came on Friday nights just shortly after I got my drivers license, during my high school years, and the first couple of years of college. I was rarely watching TV on Friday nights and didn’t care enough to record it.

Their incorporation of surrealism was necessary to overcome the claustrophobic tendencies that come with having one setting (Alaska errrr Roslyn, Washington) for a show. I dig it.
