Any details on Brian Kelly buyout?

Is LSU just going to keep making him monthly payments or are they still in talks for a lump sum? Any news on him taking a lesser amount for cause on anything?

It’s not our money. Why should we care?

I heard Governor Bobby Boucher is gonna start taking 20 dollars a month out of everybody’s checks and give it to BK until he’s paid in full.

I saw a deduction on my check said something about state tax going towards buyout

Whatever it is, I'm willing to fail for 25% of that.

You had a contract pay the man what he is owed. Not his fault that someone gave him this contract. Do what you agreed to do. The so called investigations about "cause" does not help the coaching search. In my opinion.

So many posters here told me that it was agreed that Kelly would accept a lump-sum payment of $27 million because LSU “cited morals clause”.
Since I was told by those posters that I didn’t know what I was talking about when I questioned this, I guess that’s where we are.

quote:Well as long as the boosters keep paying, it's not a problem. But are they going to be willing to keep paying if there aren't any results? It is not just the Kelly buyout. It is the assistant coaches, NIL money as we will have to hit the portal hard again, the salary of the new coach, a buyout of McMahon's contract if they fire him this season, hiring new coordinator's and on and on.
It’s not our money. Why should we care?

These guys arent capable of complex thinking. "Is it your money?" No, but its the schools resources towards building the best staff and roster possible. Its not "muh tax dollars!" Its about a critical resource to our team being used effectively. It hurts how stupid and emotional our forum tends to be, youd think we were democrats. Send those downvotes kids, nobody will reply with why im wrong but ill get ratiod.

LSU has started the $8 dollar a month club.100,000 members contribute monthly until Krain Belly is paid in full.

Well quite frankly, it is basically a pissing contest among the wealthy donors at all of the competitive universities. If one drops out, another will fill his spot.
There are bragging rights, even if they are behind closed doors.
LSU will be fine.

Quit saying this shite, it makes no sense.
It affects the team and every dollar that is spent on BK’s buyout is a dollar that boosters could’ve spent elsewhere. A $54M buyout is not a good thing, especially when LSU still has to pay players and a new coaching staff.
As fans, we should want them to save us much money as possible.
This is like saying “it’s not your ankle. Why do you care?” If someone asks whether whit weeks is playing against Bama.
It affects the team.

I’m not sure why anyone actually believes that this sort of thing has been finalized yet.
These sorts of negotiations take time. Lawyers get involved. It’s a process.
And very little truth of it will be reported broadly. It would probably be in everyone’s best interests to find a way to sever ties faster and quietly, and this is coming from a person who is not pretending to know anything about anything.
Whether we pay the full amount or a reduced one time payment, the faster we all move on the better.

If we give him a lump sum, then the next school can't help offset it. Monthly payments make him come back to the table later if he wants to keep coaching.

You do realize that those are separate items, right?

May the good Lord bless you and never give you anything serious to worry about in life. I don't know if you could handle it.
