If PSU beats OSU then was it a mistake to fire Franklin? Or is the interim coach that good

That would he like saying we should have kept Burger King if we beat bama next week. That makes no sense

Bama isn't the #1 ranked undefeated defending National Champions.
Bama lost to unranked FSU.
Beating Bama wouldn't be in the same galaxy as beating Ohio State

No. A lot of times when you fire a coach it has a way of refocusing the team. I’ll never forget Rondell Mealey and LSU defeating Arky in ‘99 with an interim coach Hal Hunter.

The barometer for PENN STATE was playoffs or bust. Franklin’s had them in playoffs last year and was fired after going 3-3 basically eliminating PSU from playoffs. A winning season and decent bowl was still in play - - but once Playoffs were out of the picture he was fired.

Alabama isn’t in the same category as OSU, not anymore. Day would smoke DeBoer right now.
Only coach that’s better than Day right now is Kirby Smart, and that’s it. Both of them would go down to the wire if they faced off.
