Expectations at LSU are out of control

Let us say the Big12 and the ACC get 2 teams in. You have to give them at least 2 if they are to respected as P4 conferences. So that is 4 slots.
1 slot is reserved for a non power 4 team. The best team outside of the P4.
So total 5. Now let us say Notre Dame gets in despite their soft scheduld.
So the Big10 with 18 teams get in 3 and the SEC gets in 3.
Maybe the SEC gets 4 if ND does not get in.
The SEC has 8-9 blue bloods:
Alabama 6 ( considering only BCS and post BCS era titles)
LSU 3
Georgia & Florida 2 each
Tennesse, Texas, Oklahoma, Auburn 1 each.
TAMU has not won a title but they have a massive NIL budget and will be a contender.
That is 9 elite programs fighting over 4 slots. Ole Miss, Arkansas, Vandy, Missouri are no slouches in this era.
So will likely make it once in a few years, but if we make it a fireable offense for a HC not to make ths playoffs for 2 straight years is simply stupid.
We will end up firing more coaches and paying buyouts than we will be bolstering NIL.

Acting Ad literally said today we will do whatever is needed contract wise to go get the best coach out there. So there’s that.

If a coach makes the playoff every other year or every third year and is constantly in the 10-2/9-3 range of records, he won’t be fired.
If he is consistently leading his team to an unranked finish with embarrassing blowouts by conference foes (Tennessee, Alabama, aTm, etc) he will be fired.

So we just give the next one $150 million over 10 years. Super cool. Then when he misses the playoffs next year....hear we go again.

You calling us spoiled! That don't go over really well around here.

Spoiled was when we fired Les. Dumb was when we thought EdO would be the answer.
Insanity is when we fired a hall of fame coach who won 70% of his games 8 games into his. 4th season with a buyout of $52 million for the simple reason "we did not like him".
Then we topped it by firing the best AD we had in a long while and I am at a loss for words.

Too much money for coaches or players now; excuses, my fault, your fault no body’s fault! Don’t matter, that’s our reality! If Saban was here he would make the playoffs every year so it can be done. No more excuses better at least make the playoffs every year, period!!

A hall of fame coach who did win 2 division 2 title.
On paper he was the best pick. He became too much of a controlling person but not flexible
But I can see why now.

Saban has won 7 national championships. Nobody else has come close.
So keep hiring and firing coaches till you find the right one. Good luck paying buyouts instead of NIL. With each passing cyle of fire and hire you will end up with a worse coach...see Florida, Tennesse, Auburn, Nebraska, USC, Texas, shall I keep going.....

I agree with you about how it was bad to fire Woodward but I don't about firing BK. It was time for him to go.

To get to 7, you have to include '20 and two years where they didn't even win their division ('11 and '17).
Nonetheless, Bear won 6. There are a few others who've won 4 or more.
