I'm a desperate man...with a desperate plan...so, here goes...

First off...I want to absolutely avoid, as much as possible, having Poole on the court at the same time as ANY player that I consider to DEFINITELY be part of the Pelicans' future plans. At the moment...that would include Trey, Herb, Fears, Missi, Bey and Queen. (I will omit Zion in this discussion since many consider him "gone"...and many don't)
This season should be totally devoted to developing these "keepers". Turn them loose...to try and find out what their limits are...and are not. Don't worry too much about wins and losses...just player development.
Probably, the best way to do this is to have a starting unit with Poole not being part of it. Personally, I wish there could be some way we could unload Poole asap...as his departure would make it much easier to work on player development without his "clown game"... which makes it very hard for the other 4 players on the court, when he is in the game, to play with any kind of cohesion.
FWIW: I think the Pels' situation is gonna get MUCH worse...before it gets better...assuming Poole remains part of the team.

I thought the consensus was Dumars made a good move getting Poole?

IMO, I don't think any of the players on this roster will be here in 5 years. I also don't think this team will be owned by Gayle or located in NOLA in the same timeframe.

I don't see anything wrong with Poole. The last time I checked, most of our perimeter players are shooting sub 40% from the field and are playing shitty defense. The coaching is obviously by far the biggest issue right now.

I started to make a post on..."which players would be here in TWO years"...but decided on doing my previous post instead.

To be fair...I'm not saying the trade for Poole was a bad thing...lot of factors go into deciding if a trade is good or bad...and many times it doesn't concern actual "play on the court"...but other factors instead.
I just don't think I'd want a "Poole" playing on my team...if I'm in the current situation...that the Pels are in...jmo. The trade for Poole can be honestly debated by either side...but once you get him...ya just gotta move that clown on down the road...asap.

I don't see anything wrong with Poole.

quote:Poole does not seem to be a winning player. His shot selection is abysmal. Maybe he hung around Steph too long, but he has to realize that he is not a fraction of the shooter Steph is. The near logo 3s as he crossed mid court has to go. He is a good slasher and has a nice floater. However, he needs to play team ball not street ball.

I think circumstances will have to change significantly for this franchise to relocate…
