Theon Greyjoy's story in GOT was a great one

He had some major up and downs but overall, his character was a great one.
From being forced to grow up with the Starks after they destroyed his family in battle to stabbing them in the back by taking over their unattended castle to getting his cock cut off and getting turned in to Ramsey's bitch to bailing on his sister in battle to saving her to eventually getting redemption by guarding the elected king of the 6 kingdoms and being finally killed by attacking the night king. Yes thats a mouth full but he was on a major roller coaster ride the entire series.
Im not taking up for him, just saying that his character really changed through out the 8 seasons. I thought his discussion with John near the end about "Always wanting do the the right thing" was telling that he eventually would do that. And he did at the end of the Long Night.
You had to feel it when Sansa light his fire after the battle with the dead. He didnt deserve to live but you had to think about his ride once his story was over.

Tough life rawdogging big titted hookers in Winterfell.

He drank the Koolaid, backstabbed, then got turned into REEK.

I'm rewatching it for the first time, on season 5 now. I find myself being much more sympathetic to everyone this time around.
Theon and Robb's relationship in the early seasons makes me like Theon a lot more now, they were boys even though the circumstances were bad. Theon had Robb's back until his head got twisted up by his dad, who I must say is one of the more underrated cunts of this show. Just an absolute bitch of a man when Theon returns home for the first time, somewhat understandably, but still a bitch. Yara is a real one though

I totally agree. Im not saying he is any worse than Walter Frey but he is close. He just was not around long enough to be as bad. His treatment of Theon was one of the reasons Theon did the things he did. But no amount of abuse can justify him killing two children and burning them.

Yea, she was but she was just another example of the writers doing the girl power thing. Thats pretty much the entire show and the prequel. It took a lot away from the story for me

I think there was a scene where he was just completely degrading Theon and how disappointed he was at how he wasn't a true "iron born" monster.
Theon was like "but you gave me away when I was a little kid to be a servant of the man who beat you in battle"
And his Dad was like "so, what's your point?"

Like Dorne the iron islands fell victim to the show runners terrible adapting because they couldn’t figure out what to do with them. Turning Euron to jack sparrow being one of the most egregious changes.

Yea, he kind of just came out of no where and was set to concur the world.

Did they? She tried to win the Salt Throne lost that and went to Dany to make a deal. Took command of part of their navy and got crushed by Euron and his ghost ships. After that she wasn't really that much of a player

She ended up taking over the Iron Island at the end and was at the final counsel. She was just part of it. She was the "man" Theons dad wanted.
The show went off the rails on the girl power. She was a small part.

Theon got everything he deserved from Ramsay

To be fair she was only one left you seem to be stretching really hard on this one

How?
Dany was on the same track he had been since season one
Arya just kind of existed, Sansa existed even less
Cersei fricked herself over in the end, only reason she didn't get wiped out far sooner was bad writing and Euron's navy

There were plenty of writing changes to try and promote girl power (most of which sucked), but this isn't one of them. Yara's character (Asha) is a badass in the books too.
Her POV chapters are one of the few bright spots of Feast for Crows.

Come on. Seriously.
Lets see
Who was gonna be over the 7 kingdoms? was a fight between Sansa, Dani and Cersi. Who else lead major houses? Little girl Mormont, Eventually Yari
The hound can beat any man one on one. Even eventually kills the mountain. Who can beat him though? Brienna. LOL
The biggest plot of the show is how to beat the army of the dead. Kill the night King is the way. Who kills him you ask? I think you know.

I hope we get to see how the rest of his story plays out if Fatass ever gets around to finishing the next book. Last thing I remember him doing is jumping from the top of the Winterfell wall with the fake Arya. I think he sees Asha but I can’t remember. I might be confusing it with the show. It’s been so fricking long since that book came out.

I would like to read the books. My mother is a major GOT nut case. Has read the books numerous times . I need to try it. Id probably like it
I like Yara and wasnt really picking her out. Just saying it was a small piece of a bigger puzzle of girl power.
Theon was a worm but maybe his forced upbringing and disrespect from his father was a big part of that.

Agree and I dont even think it is a hot take. Im sure most thought he deserved what Ramsey dished out. Fortunately, Ramsey got his too.

Let's not act like Sansa was relevant here, only reason she even had a say was because Jon said so he was still the leader.
And Cersi was only there because all the men around her died. Bobby B died early on, Joffery was poisoned, and Tomen rage quit life. Even when she was in power she wasn't exactly great at it

Brienna
What's wrong with Brienne being a badass? Plus she won by using her environment without that she loses

Lazy writing and having zero idea of what to do with Arya

Yes he meets Asha at the end of DWD
"Asha: Theon?
Theon: Theon. My name is Theon. You have to know your name"
Which I thought was pretty cool for him after escaping with "Arya"
