The job market has been abysmal this year
But a lot of these firms were probably carrying a lot of bloat

I think our friends at The Fed has claimed a soft landing but the runway might be right in the middle of "stagflation airport".
There's been signs of rough waters on the employment front for over a year. For some reason there is latency in the data the Fed uses for decisions over rate increases or decreases. I don't have much faith in them since the whole "it's just transitory" bullshite, followed by a hasty, compressed rate hike schedule that resulted in solvency issues at several banks (like SVB).
Or.....the Fed is just ignoring the story the data is telling and cherry picking the individual data points to support whatever politically driven action they want to take. Like we are possibly in some soft currency war and attempting to undermine competing alternatives (including Crypto). I've been suspecting that for years TBH.
And now you are probably catching why I have some more metal in my portfolio than I did 5-6 years ago.

Possibly
But the job market does seem to be pretty weak right now

I've worked with some of the tech companies listed. And yes, they were carrying a LOT of bloat.
There was a lot of shock and outrage when Musk bought twitter and laid off a lot of employees. My reaction was "given that he's run Tesla for years, he knows the dirty little Silicon Valley secret".
There is an element of the workforce in that valley that recognizes how chaotic those employers are. Their whole career is moving from one high paid role to another, only leaving when someone finally realizes (usually after years) that they achieve virtually nothing.

Not a Democrat.
Not a spammer.
I merely posted factual information in the OP.
Feel free to debunk the numbers in the OP.
I'm guessing you won't, because they are facts.

I used to date a girl that worked for Hulu and it appeared they had an abundance of staff based on her work load managing a team of developers
It essentially looked like a part time job

UPS 48K ?
Amazon 30k ?
Intel 24K ?
Ford 11K ?
Yeah, just trimming a little fat

They are firing American employees and are blaming it on AI instead of the real.culprit which is hiring foreigners on visas
AI = All Indians
AI = All Indians

When you have 1.55 million employees, yes 30k is just trimming a little fat.
As for Ford, there was a massive fire that closed Novelis Aluminum plant in New York, that supplies most of their material. There are general issues with the aluminum supply chain right now, which is why they are pausing production and doing layoffs in their KC plant that build the F150. They've also halted production of the Lightning and slowed other EV production, which is causing layoffs as well.
All that said, yes there are a lot of cuts happening. Most companies over-hired during the covid era and many are looking to cut 10% of staff or more. Not a good environment right now.

UPS is cutting 48k which is 10% of its work force.
Is that just a little trimming ?
UPS & Fed Ex are a reflection of economic activity.
Spin it however you want, but this jobs market is in free fall.

But the fake economy (the stock market) is going up so nothing to worry about

It's what they voted for, right?

USAID funds have been stopped. Something tells me we will discover in due time what our tax dollars were actually funding and it will include several if not all of these companies.
Another thing to consider is the COVID-19 bullshite funds have dried up.

I'm not a Democrat, but I call a spade a spade.
This board would be losing their minds if these massive job losses were happening with a Democrat in office.
But since Trump is in office it's no big deal, just trimming a little fat.

How much of that is due to Amazon rolling out its own delivery networks and relying less on UPS and FedEx?
I know Amazon was trying to use its volume for a certain discounts they wanted but the companies felt they were unsustainable.

You say that as if that just happened.
Amazon has had a massive delivery network for years now

I have a friend who graduated from Pepperdine Law, but works for Salesforce as a sales manager. She makes a fortune, yet half of their day is spent hiking or eating out. She makes no secret about it.
I understand why she does what she does, big money and little invested time.
