Gentlemen of the OT, beard trimming question

Do you regularly or have you ever gone and had your beard trimmed at a barber?
I have been growing and maintaining my beard for 3 years now and I would possibly like to get mine done for an upcoming wedding.
I have no clue what to tell the guy other than to "clean it up"

When I do grow a beard once a year my barber just says “you want me to clean it up”.
So just ask them to do that. They should trim it up and check the lines to make sure they are straight.

There’s a million videos on how to do a million styles. Don’t know how long you have. If you have time to screw up and grow back out.
As mentioned “clean it up” is all you want.

Wedding is in 3 weeks.
I just made an appointment for a trimming the Tuesday before the wedding.

I usually tell my barber, "clean up my neck, line up my beard as well. I don't want a chinstrap beard so don't push the line up down at all, thanks"
??? Idk works for me.

Get a picture of how you want to get your beard to look for the wedding. If they say they can’t match the picture, then find someone else to do it who can.

Get a beard trimming kit. Bought a good one for $19 from Best Buy and it does me wonders.

Just talk to the barber. They will give you some ideas of what they can do with it.
The back and forth with the barber will give you to your answer.
It really won’t be a difficult thing

Yes, I go periodically to get mine trimmed and cleaned up. You basically just describe the shape you want and about how much you want cut off. Don't overthink it.
It's a great spot to get some tips on how to maintain it and keep a nice, clean looking beard.

I wish I could grow a full beard. I just don't have the genes to do it. fml

I've found that going to the barber for a beard trim is more about shaping than trimming. My beard gets completely out of hand if I don't maintain and shape it at least once a week.

I feel like that is what I need more than anything.
