How many states does this make?

“A whole fricking lot” may cover it but isn’t really exact.

NC
TEXAS
now Kansas.

With Cali and maybe Virginia for the progs.

Need Florida to get a few. I know there are talks of others but not sure which ones. The good news is the progs are almost out of options.

With Cali

California is going to eradicate most of the gains when they remove 7 GOP seats easily.

This whole deal with the mid cycle redistricting was really fricking stupid.

I've got hyper-prog cousins already completely melting all over socials about this shite. "It'S sO uNfAiR!!1!1!" "MuH GeRrYmAnDeRiNg!!!1!1!1"

Every single post they make about it, I respond with the Illinois districting map. They hate me right now.

So gop still comes out on top. Got it.

Good thing is, for now, CA can't make the changes for a few years unless they can quickly change their constitution.

So sounds like the timing is ideal, and not that stupid.

Are they not voting to do that tomorrow?

Don't know. Perhaps for it to be on the ballot. I'm assuming changing the constitution is a ballot vote, so thinking that will take a little time to get done. Even if they get the ability to do it it can be to late for the midterms. Though any sketchy moves are on the table for lefties in CA.

The vote is to allow the legislature to redraw maps for 2026. They’re going to do it next week, Nov 4.

So in CA it's a legislature vote, not a ballot vote, to actually change their constitution?

I would assume it takes a ballot vote to change their constitution.

It is a ballot vote.

From Grok:

quote:

November 4, 2025California is holding a statewide special election on this date for voters to decide on Proposition 50, a constitutional amendment that would temporarily suspend the California Citizens Redistricting Commission's authority over congressional districts. If approved by a simple majority, it would replace the current maps (drawn in 2021 after the 2020 census) with new ones proposed by the state legislature, effective for the 2026 and 2028 elections. This move aims to counter mid-decade redistricting efforts in other states, like Texas, by potentially adding five Democratic-leaning congressional seats. The next full redistricting cycle by the Commission isn't scheduled until after the 2030 census, around 2031. This special election was called by Gov. Gavin Newsom in August 2025, with mail ballots already distributed to all registered voters. Early in-person voting began October 25, and same-day registration is available at vote centers.

They are having a ballot vote, next week, to direct the legislature to redraw maps for next years election.

They found that quick way to change their constitution.

Either way if the current redistricting plans in Red states adds some more, at the end of it all, then it's a positive nonetheless. Especially if they are done without the shackles of required black districts.

Once California is completely blue they really have no threat left to make on the national stage. Other than fudging the census to try to get an extra seat, but I think that will be the next goal of the GOP. An accurate count of citizens can only further diminish California's power

Yup. Let them tire themselves out, and on to the next punch.

Finally glad to see the gop make some offensive moves.
