Is anyone else way more excited about the coaching prospects now than post-Orgeron?

I think there are a lot of guys this cycle that would kill it at LSU. I think Kiffin, Sumrall, Drink, Brohm, and Key would all be excellent here, or at least big upgrades from BK, in addition to the pipe dream big names.
I wasn’t excited about anyone being mentioned after Orgeron was fired. Aranda didn’t feel like head coach material, Riley was a pussy, Napier was an idiot, then you had guys like Mel Tucker and Matt Campbell who just aren’t good.
A lot more guys just have that highly competent Jay Johnson feel than in years past IMO.

As much as its sucked to watch, the team is in more stable place than it was post Orgeron

The season isn't over yet.

Not really. There were great candidates last time but none of them were on Woodwards radar. Unfortunately I worry that will happen again this time around and we'll just go after Kiffin because it's easy and wins the press conference

Not sure how you can say that. The quality of play is about equal, but there were some young stars on Coach O’s last team that gave you a good nucleus to build on. We also had some big time recruits that were committed.
If it’s the 39 scholarship players in the bowl game that keeps getting talked about, how many do you expect LSU to have in whatever 3rd tier bowl game we go to this season? 1/2 the team is liable to be in the transfer portal by then.
