“The Many Lives of Lane Kiffin”

My wife (no pics) and I just finished watching The Many Lives of Lane Kiffin on the ESPN app, and I’m starting to think this guy might never leave Ole Miss. If you love college football and stories of redemption, it’s definitely worth a watch.

of course he's not, you can thank the NIL and portal for that, maybe 10 years ago it would be a stepping stone, but anyone can win anywhere now, it is a new era. Evolve or die.

I thought opposite. Why would he do a documentary showing he “matured” and “changed” if he wasn’t trying to leave OM

I watched this last night and the people with me said the same thing.
I remember watching Lebron’s documentary called “More than a game” and thinking he would never leave Cleveland. Then he went to Miami shortly after to win championships.
Come on down Lane.

Not necessarily true.
Lane will never win a ring at Ole Miss. That school has trouble consistently grounding a defense due to recruiting grounds.
Lane knows Louisiana talent. He knows LSU recruits itself with a loyal state that produces way more than Northern Miss. Yes the game has changed some, but its unrealistic for him to transfer portal a great defense every single year at OM

If Lane Kiffin leaves, it would be one hell of a story arc:
there's nothing more Lane Kiffin than releasing a documentary on Oxford rebuilding his relationship with his family and himself, spending the next few weeks calling Kirby fat, Oklahoma cheaters and taking the Florida/LSU money and running.

2025 is his best coaching job imo

For sure. Coming off a 2024 season that would have gotten him fired at LSU though

Ole Miss has four remaining games against unranked opponents. They may be playing in the SEC Championship game come December

Bingo.
And he can now use this yr to renegotiate his contract while simultaneously having lower success expectations at Ole Miss than what we would expect if he came here.

I’m having Bryce Underwood vibes about him.

I’ll be extremely shocked if he leaves Oxford. I want him, but I don’t see it happening.

I disagree.
When BK lost, he LOST. The offense this year couldnt do a fricking thing. We looked like actual shite.
If i were an Ole Miss fan, i know you guys lost to GA.. but you didnt look helpless doing it. Lane fricking shat all over GAs defense. It was exciting to watch.
With BK youre miserable the whole fricking time.
I dont think its Kiffin that we want fully, but just a capable offense. We never seem to have one outside of two generational QBs. And BK fricking wasted him too.

I'm not going to lie, that whole E60 felt very intentionally designed to reinvent Kiffin after his really controversial past. It definitely worked IMO.

Last year we gave Lane the 3rd most expensive roster in the country full of seniors and NFL talent on both sides of the ball. He lost 3 games, 2 to unranked bad teams.
His 2024 season is pretty close to a copy of the 2025 season BK is being fired for.
