BK understands he didn’t get the job done. It was time to Geaux !!!
He’ll probably alway say he wasn’t given enough time but everything is in the past now.

We need Lane Kiffin and can correct the mistake LSU made 4 years ago.

We would always have a great offense with Lane and good to great QB play with the better athletes he can recruit at LSU versus Ole Piss.
Just needs to find his Defensive Coordinator !!!

The only thing interesting with BK moving forward….. Is if he wants to end his generally successful career with this firing (if his ego can take it) or does he take another job (say Penn State) to “go out on his own terms“ after maybe 4 years.

Guy is a solid coach (will go in College Football Hall of Fame) …. but you need an ELITE Coach in the SEC !!!!

Lane can bring National Championship to LSU !!! Book It !!!

That was a dream for BK that he would Never been able to realize for LSU.

A $100 million dollar mistake by LSU !!!!

Lane would require a contract bigger than Kelly’s.

If LSU does indeed learn from the Kelly mistake, it won’t be by giving Lane an even bigger contract.

If you want the best coach … you will need to pay about 12 million per year…what Day is reportedly making at Ohio State.

The KEY is … you make it a 5-6yr contract.

None of this 10 yr contract bullshite !!!

BK is lazy. Totally failed on his two biggest responsibilities: 1) hire an O coordinator (Sloan) 2) hire a D coordinator (Matt House)

Make Lane Kiffin take LESS Money PER YEAR ..if he stays with Ole Piss or goes somewhere else.

6 YEAR contract at say 12.5 -13 million as the Highest Paid coach in College Football !!

I doubt it. He was the one who said, “Judge me in year three.” This was year four.

I don’t disagree on what you’re saying, but Lane is unlikely to accept only a 5-6 year contract and the reduced buyout percentage that would probably require to make the contract amenable to LSU.

The magic number for me would be offer any contract so long as LSU’s buyout responsibility is $20M or less after year 4.

You could offer Lane a 10 year $120M contract with a 25% guarantee to achieve that but I doubt Lane would accept that.

I said this a long time ago. Kelly wanted a payday. Notre Dame only gave him a three-year extension, he wanted more money to go off into the sunset. Maybe he still wants to coach, but definitely not on this level with this amount of pressure.

Kiffin would have a *Fully Guaranteed* 5-6 year Contract.

If it’s 13 million per year
(Highest PER YEAR Coaching Salary in College Football History)….
and he’s fired after 4 years…. You only owe him 26 million.

The only “Carrot” you have is to pay him MORE PER YEAR than anyone else in College Football History … while still protecting LSU with shortened contract length.

Only other option is to Geaux 10 year contract length.

Pick your Poison !!!!!!!

No, none of that is correct except that he was a mistake.

He overestimated his ability.

Brian Kelly is a fraud.

He was never going to succeed here.

His resume was built on G5, Div II, and media darling with cream puff schedule success.

The fact it took so many here so long to see and accept that is mind-boggling.

Everyone blames the head coach for the wrong reasons. Kelly NEVER called plays..it was Sloan. If the HC isn't talking on the sidelines which they show a lot when plays are called, he is NOT calling plays. He is LISTENING to the plays being called.

What DOES stop at the HC's door is the hiring of OC and DC. He had a good OC that returned to ND under Freeman. But to promote Sloan was a joke...he had only been OC at La Tech for a short time. And House was a bad hire. The more I see of Baker, the less I think that was a good hire either. He is the highest paid DC in college football and game after game after game, he can't hold down a dual threat QB. Funny, because other teams don't let the QB run wild. Missouri did a number of Pavia last week even though they lost the low scoring game.

Hiring big name coaches means hiring big name egos, big name baggage, big name paychecks and contracts. LSU would do well to go the young Nick Saban route, find a very promising younger up and comer coach who understands nil and portal team building and who highly values the LSU job.
Let’s forget the big name instant gratification coach hires and go longer term.

I think he had no real desire to to what it takes to win. Again, shame on Scott Woodward

The ONE thing the Kelly admin did well was manage NIL. JD was a snag. Imagine House is never hired, or imagine this year Berry gets 20 touches per game with MVB under center.

We’re probably 7-1 at that point.

Les really does not deserve the comparison but god damn if this doesn’t feel familiar. All you had to do was pull the trigger and play the right dudes.

Yeah, I mean it is what it is. We paid a shite load of money for an SEC champion appearance and a Heisman Trophy. All things we probably would’ve gotten anyway without Kelly.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The onus was on the AD and the big boosters to not hire a coach with no forethought about NIL and the portal. They f-ed up the hire. BK only took advantage of a situation b/c our athletic leadership was/is foolish.

BK made some mistakes. The big one: Leaving us without an effective QB this year. With even above average QB play, we wouldn’t be talking about any of this because we’d be a one loss team. Maybe even undefeated.
