The only answer is Nick Saban even if it is only for 3 years

Can we all just manifest that collectively here on the Rant?

I’m convinced he got out because he recognized his formula doesn’t work in the NIL / transfer portal era. He might be a good AD though.

I don't think its a bad formula as it is a lack of desire to deal with NIL/the portal on his part. His last game was a semi-final overtime playoff loss and he left his replacement the best roster in college football according to 24/7 so his formula was still solid.
I do agree he would not be a good fit due to age and lack of desire. Which is at least part of the reason Kelly failed here.

Saban has to have complete control. NIL stopped that. Players now have rights ($$). No way his ego could continue and affect his systematic approach

If Saban wants it then you say HELL Yeah. Sign him to a 4/5 year deal. He doesnt need the money. So wouldnt be looking for a 7 or 8 year deal. Finding guys to work for him would be easy since he is the goat. Recruits would line up. We know he is old but Saban has still got it. Top it off gumps would go nuts.

Why would he want to come back to LSU and deal with the catastrophe syndrome our fans have?

Saban didn't want to deal with the NIL and transfer-portal stuff.
I don't see him coming back..

Bad way to talk about yourself

He’s 74, enjoys working just one day a week and doesn’t like the NIL era. Not going to happen.

No thanks at this point

He's too old, can we make him AD though?

I met him.
And what they say about never actually meeting your heroes is true. I’m not down for that.

The new era of NIL ran him off. No way he comes back.

Plus he would suck. No 75 year old is going to rebuild LSU in an NIL era he has never experienced.

Saban said college ball now resembles the aspects of the NFL that he didn't like and if he were to go back to coaching, it may as well be to the NFL.

Eric Morris is the best coach who is available. Took over a crappy program even by G5 standards and immediately flipped it, they are dropping 50 burgers on every team they play. Bonus is his QB could transfer with him, who is only a redshirt freshman.
Comes from the Mike Leach coaching tree, has developed and recruited several elite QBs including Pat Mahomes, Cam Ward, John Mateer, and his current QB Drew Mestemaker is lighting it up despite not having played QB since 9th grade before Morris plucked him.

There's a reason you work where you work. Stay there.
