A young, enigmatic coach like Kelvin Sheppard is just what the Tigers need to roll the dice on. There are zero national championship coaches coming here or available. None.

Kelvin has proven himself in the ranks of the NFL, rising at the same time as the rise of the Detroit Lions to contender. And now he is there Defensice Coordinator. We pair him with a solid OC and roll the dice. It could pay huge dividends. And if it doesn’t, I doubt it would cost more than 25-30 mil.

Plus, he’s one of us. No not a coonass from down the bayou, but a former Tiger great, and National Champion. He could bring unity across the state, and dollars!!! He could bring back the magic!!!!

Stupid post like these make the whole process miserable. Being a DC in NFL doesn’t equate to being a HC in CFB. Especially first time HC. Go back to Facebook with these dumbass posts.

I wouldn’t hate it. I’m just hoping for a young coach.

No let’s hire another Brian Kelly who checked all the boxes. You know and have just as much of a crystal ball as I do or anyone else.

LSU just wasted about 100 million on a guy who had loads of experience and was ready.

I’d be fine with taking a shot on Kelvin if LSU also hired a proven CFB mind to be GM and help him with the admin side of things.

He’s only coached a few years and is a 1st year defensive coordinator. I think he needs more than 4 years of total coaching experience to run a massive college football program. Just my opinion

I don't think Austin Thomas is going anywhere.
If we could pair Shep with an experienced HC as an assistant, like Sam Pittman as oline coach, to help show him the ropes, I think this could be a home run

Or you could just go hire a HC. We are LSU, we are not taking a shot at shite. No other school is hiring a 37 NFL DC as their HC in the SEC. I get having coaches you like but this is not a serious discussion. It’s not happening.

Yeah maybe we could get James Franklin? Or Nick Saban again! We are LSU. I hear Brian Kelly is looking, he’s coached for multiple decades!!!
