Now comes the perennial question: can the yokel AD at LSU actually hire a talented coach?

BK had to go, but will the greasy politicos and glad-handlers and beauracrats in Louisiana hire a worthy successor?

LSU became irrelevant in the late 1980s and 1990s largely because its dysfunctional AD could not hire the right coaches. The passed over Spurrier, amongst other blunders. Emmert saved us with Saban.

We'll see.

There is big discussion right now is regards to Scotty being able to have the ability to hire the new coach. I know for a fact big boosters are not wanting him with full reign like last time. Also with a new president on the horizon Woodward is far from safe

You guys seem to think Woodward is the only one to blame for BK. You do realize he has to get approval to make a hire? BK is on Woodward, the entire admin, and the boosters. All of these he has to have approval to make a hire. They're all to blame for this mess.

I can guarantee you money right now boosters will be even more involved this time around with the hire.

This is not a good thing. Boosters being too involved in the hiring process is dysfunctional and a major reason why a school like Texas with all the money in the world struggled for so long to become relevant again.

Well, it's already bad because you have a politician in Landry trying to take credit for restoring LSU's program. That's why he's making a move now before reelection. politics in sports is the absolute worst.
