Simsboro, La
60° and calm rained last night
.308 in a boxstand on a planted lane and feeder in some pretty thick woods.

Killed a 130# doe yesterday evening so I’m in a different stand today. REB jr is in the one I killed it from and he says he’s got 2 deer in his plot already.

Good luck fellas.

Got my tracking dog a little practice too.

In my doe spot. Just need some meat in the freezer before I head to northern MO later this week. I haven’t been able to hunt much this year so far.

Mosquitoes are terrible.

Good luck gents

Saddle over a trail

60ish, damp, and lots of mosquitoes. I have had very little on camera since Thursday not sure why they went scarce all of a sudden. Doesn’t look Ike they want to reappear this am either. Need a doe for some meat soon.

REB Jr dropped a big doe from the stand I was in yesterday. He’s about to come pick me up so we can clean this thing.

Yeah we were kind of overrun with does this year so we’re trying to thin them out before the rut.

Sunny & a little muggy but there’s a breeze.

Jumped up 3 walking in only to find 4 in the food plot about 200 yards out.

Watching them nibble now.

Hit the rain just right with fertilizer and the food plot looks great.

Mathews lift RS, G5 dead meat

Started my 4 off today, so I loaded up the camper and headed up here to do some scouting and bow hunting.
In my saddle, by some oaks. Walked until I found some oaks with the ground stirred up under them, and set up. Hoping a good buck comes by, but I may shoot a doe to break the ice.
