Damn. I had just heard his story on Gameday a few weeks ago too.

Very sad. I know he was fighting very hard.Prayers to his family and friends.
And while this is meaningless he was a huge part in Tulane turn around.

Hester is an S&C coaching legend. He was a great coach and mentor to a lot of my Mandeville are friends, and I have some extended family that knew him as well through coaching. We also share the Hatch family tree relation, although I never personally met him. I’ve heard a huge number of stories about what a great guy he was, how much he helped, and how in touch he was with his athletes. I count it as a life regret not meeting him personally when I had the chance.
Part of the joy of coaching is that your legacy ends up being the habits, the mentality, the ethic, and the will you impart to your athletes. In that way he lives on. Rest easy, Coach.

Awesome human being. Left PAC to become strength coach at La Tech. Phenomenal job up there before going to Tulane. Prayers to his wonderful family.

Never encountered a guy with a better reputation. Players absolutely love this guy, every single one of them

a great guy and a S&C legend. He would always take time out of his day to talk to you if you reached out. Even when he was sick he was getting back to people that had questions.
