Outplayed by Ja Morant in the clutch on Wednesday and now missed game winning FT if he wants to be a superstar has to take game over at the end especially when other teams star fouls out

Yep we needed the last free throw but TMIII should never leave the three point shooter

I still don’t understand why Zion ran the offense with 12 second left

Because he tried to catch them off guard. Which is fine but the man need to hit his free throws.

He drove into a wall that was waiting for him

The wall will be there regardless. I'm not defending his decision to do it early. But it wasnt the issue. The missed free throw was the issue.

It's time we hold Trey accountable for his horrible defense effort like we did with Zion. AD was dumbfounded by what Trey did but he did the same thing a couple of years ago when Matt Ryan hit that tying 3 Trey was standing in the paint for no reason.

Zion has played very well these first two games but his free throw shooting is indefensible. We bitch and moan about him not getting the calls he deserves and then he goes out and shoots 60% on the FTs he does get. That can’t happen. Also, down 6 in OT, Zion needs to take that open 3 at the top of the key. Maybe dude is just too muscular and will never be able to shoot, I don’t know.

Trey has it great. His mistakes are never his fault.

He gave Vassell open 3s all night, going under screens. Then walked away from a shooter with the game on the line.

To make its worse, he gave up another 3 to Vassell in ot.

It was so bad they actually closed the game with the rookie, Fears on Vassell.

So again… I ask… why the frick do you drive into with 12 seconds left? Makes no basketball sense

I already told you why. You just don't want to accept it. He got to the line didn't he? So it worked?

You’re missing the point.

It guaranteed San Antonio the last shot with 10+ seconds left… and they weren’t caught off guard so your explanation makes no sense.

The missed FT is not what lost the game. Terrible transistion defense again, Trey with the boneheaded move to leave Castle wide open. Poole's shot selection (and losing 2 points on an odd late review) and Jose getting a damned technical for not having his jersey tucked in are just some of the inexcusable mistakes.

You're stuck on something that had no effect on the game tonight.

Him going early or not is irrelevant to the outcome of the game. You're just choosing to harp on it for whatever reason.

Never said it had an affect… doesn’t make it any less dumb that it happened.

Yeah, a lot of teams initiating their sets in last shot opps with 12 seconds left on the clock.

You got me

Are you talking about at the end of regulation? We was down 1 so in case you miss you leave enough time to foul. That's why that defensive lapse by Trey was so bad at worst we should have been tied with Zion shot being the last shot.

You’re down 1… you play for the last shot and draw your best set out of a timeout… especially considering they weren’t caught off murdering us on the boards.

It worked out in the sense that we were able to tie it at the line, but it was the lowest percentage play we could’ve done considering no matter what happened, San Antonio was going to have a chance for the final shot. In that scenario, you never want to give the ball back to the opponent. You either win or lose on your last offensive action.
